What is Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste used for?

Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste is designed for the effective treatment and control of various internal and external parasites in horses. This includes lice, mites, and certain types of worms. Administering this paste helps maintain your horse's overall health and performance levels by eliminating harmful parasites that can cause illness or discomfort.

How do I administer Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste to my horse?

To administer Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste, select the appropriate dose based on your horse's weight, which is indicated on the syringe. Place the syringe in the horse's mouth, preferably at the back, and dispense the paste gently while ensuring the horse swallows it. If you're unfamiliar with the process, consult a veterinarian for guidance to ensure proper dosage and administration.

Can I use Ivermax Ivermectin on other animals?

Ivermax Ivermectin is specifically formulated for horses and is not recommended for use on other animals such as dogs or cats. Each species has different tolerances and requirements for ivermectin dosage. Using this product on other species can be harmful and may lead to adverse reactions, so it’s crucial to consult a veterinarian for specific treatments suitable for other types of animals.

Are there any side effects associated with Ivermax Ivermectin?

While Ivermax Ivermectin is generally safe for use in horses, some animals may experience mild side effects such as lethargy, bloating, or mild diarrhea shortly after administration. These symptoms usually resolve quickly. Monitoring your horse post-treatment is recommended, and if severe symptoms arise, consult your vet immediately to ensure your horse's well-being.

How often should I administer Ivermax Ivermectin to my horse?

The frequency of administering Ivermax Ivermectin depends on your horse's exposure to parasites. Generally, deworming every 6 to 12 months is recommended, but you should work with a veterinarian to create a tailored deworming schedule based on your horse's specific needs and environment. Regular fecal tests can also determine if additional treatments are necessary.

Is Ivermax Ivermectin safe for pregnant mares?

Ivermax Ivermectin is safe for use in pregnant mares, but it should be used under the guidance of a veterinarian. Your vet can provide insights on the correct timing of administration during the gestation period to avoid any potential risks to the mare or her foal. Regular monitoring and consultation will ensure the health of both the mare and her offspring.

What ingredients are in Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste?

Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste primarily contains ivermectin as its active ingredient, which is a well-known antiparasitic compound. The formulation is designed to effectively target a variety of parasites while being easy to administer. Other inactive ingredients are included to support the paste's consistency and palatability, ensuring that it’s appealing to horses during treatment.

Can I use Ivermax Ivermectin paste on foals?

Ivermax Ivermectin is generally not recommended for foals under a specified weight or age without veterinary guidance. It’s crucial to consult your veterinarian for the appropriate deworming product and dosage for foals, as they have different health considerations compared to mature horses, ensuring their safety and health during treatment.

How should I store Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste?

Ivermax Ivermectin Equine Paste should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Proper storage will maintain the effectiveness of the active ingredients and prevent degradation. Ensure that it is out of reach of children and pets.
