Gretsch Resonators 2715020521 Editorial Review
The Gretsch G9210 Boxcar Square-Neck Resonator Guitar is a highly underrated and affordable option for those looking for a square neck dobro. With a sound quality that rivals instruments costing up to five times as much, this guitar is a great value for the price. The square neck design allows for lap steel playing, making it perfect for playing in traditional Dobro or Hawaiian style. The raised bridge enhances the resonator effect, producing a rich and vibrant tone. The guitar comes tuned in open G, making it ready to play right out of the box. While the instrument itself is highly praised by customers, there are some minor critiques. The Lima bean tuners are not favored by those with larger hands, as they can be difficult to maneuver. Some customers expressed a preference for larger Grover tuners. However, this is a matter of personal preference and does not detract from the overall quality of the guitar. It is worth noting that this guitar does not come with an electric pickup, so it may not be suitable for those looking for amplified sound. Additionally, it does not have a left-handed version available, limiting options for left-handed players. Overall, the Gretsch G9210 Boxcar Square-Neck Resonator Guitar is a great choice for those looking for a high-quality and affordable square neck dobro. Its sound quality, design, and value make it a highly recommended option for both beginners and experienced players.
