Celestron Reducer Lens .7X - EdgeHD 800 - Increases Field of View 43%

The Celestron .7X Reducer Lens for the EdgeHD 800 telescope has garnered predominantly positive feedback from users, lauded for its exceptional build quality and functional advantages in astrophotography. Customers noted that the reducer lens is well-Constructed with flawless fit and finish. This aspect has been highlighted as a sign of Celestron's commitment to quality in their products. Users appreciated the significant impact of the reducer on their imaging capabilities, specifically noting that it cuts exposure times effectively. For amateur astronomers coping with issues like poor polar alignment or inadequate guiding setups, this aspect has proven invaluable, allowing them to achieve better results with shorter exposures. The ability to fit larger celestial objects, such as the sun and moon, within the camera’s view has also been a highlight for many, particularly for those using the Celestron 8” CPC telescope. While the performance of the reducer lens is generally well-received, some users have pointed out its size and weight as Considerations, especially when mounted in an alt-az style mount that can exacerbate the tendency of the Edge 8 HD to be tail-heavy. Furthermore, there are concerns regarding the placement of the lens in relation to the mounting screws, with some cautioning that it could easily be bumped or touched when adjusting the equipment. While these issues did not detract from its overall functionality, they did contribute to a slightly lower rating from some users. Despite some shortcomings, users have expressed a desire for a more affordable price point, underscoring the lens's performance as a critical accessory next to a camera and guiding solution in the astrophotographic toolkit. Overall, the Celestron .7X Reducer Lens is regarded as a solid investment for any avid astrophotographer looking to enhance their imaging game. **
