Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
Can this product be consumed by vegetarians?
Answer: Yes, it is suitable for vegetarians. -
Question:
Is the packaging eco-friendly?
Answer: Yes, it comes in a recyclable tub made of all paper. -
Question:
Is the product suitable for coeliacs?
Answer: Yes, it is suitable for coeliacs. -
Question:
Have you read the reviews, why is it clumping. Why does most people say its not real slippery elm?
Answer: It does clump a little. I put mine in a small screw top jar, add cold water and shake vigorously, this works for me. -
Question:
I mix 5g with 50ml water as instructed. This is like gloop. I can’t drink it, so basically eat it with a spoon. Is this correct?
Answer: Sprinkle one teaspoon of slippery elm powder onto about 50ml of water in a cup, then stir slowly until fully dissolved; once fully dissolved add hot water to fill the cup, leave to cool, about 15 minutes and then drink. -
Question:
How long does slippery elm lasts from opening the pack?
Answer: I bought my pack over 2 years ago & it was put into a plastic box with a tight fitting lid, there is still some left in the box as I only use it occasionally now if my stomach flares up, it seems to be fine. -
Question:
How long does this keep for (in its unopened packet/tub)?
Answer: I have not ever kept Slippery Elm and not used it. There should be a 'USE BY DATE' on the tub or packaging. Mine I opened some weeks ago using daily. It is tightly sealed after each use and placed at the bottom of the fridge. Unused, I would suggest keeping in a cool place. -
Question:
Is this powder pure or mixed with something else?
Answer: Our slippery elm powder is pure 100%, with nothing else added. -
Question:
I sprinkle on dogs food how do other people give to their dogs?
Answer: Yep just sprinkle and mix in. Great if raw feeding but you could mix a little water with your kibble and mix in too if needed. Our dog is DIY Raw fed and eats it fine. Fantastic to give if they have any tummy upsets too.
Nutritionist's Take
Natural Health 4 Life's 100% Pure Inner Bark Slippery Elm Powder is praised by nutritionists for its potential gut health benefits, stemming from its mucilage content which may soothe the digestive tract. It's vegan and gluten-free, making it suitable for various dietary preferences, including those with food allergies. However, while it can support digestive health, its efficacy may vary among individuals, and overuse could lead to potential gastrointestinal discomfort. Quality-wise, being 100% pure is a significant advantage, as it ensures no additives or fillers. Nutritionists recommend it as a complementary approach rather than a primary treatment for gut issues. Consumers should focus on a balanced diet and consult healthcare professionals for personalized advice.
