Hellhole is an entertaining exploitative women in prison film set in a mental institution. The film follows the story of a woman named Susan, who wakes up in an insane asylum with amnesia and is chased down by an assassin. Susan discovers that the institution is run by a sadistic warden called Dr. Fletcher, who conducts madcap experiments on the female patients. The performances of the cast are fun to watch, with special mentions to Mary Woronov and Ray Sharkey. The Blu-ray transfer is decent, with the image appearing clear most of the time, and the English language DTS-HD 2.0 mix being fine. The special features on the disc include a five-minute interview with Woronov and a theatrical trailer. Hellhole is highly recommended for enthusiasts of trash cinema.
